Salop Leisure, one of the largest caravan dealers in the UK - today announced that it has added the Coachman franchise to its portfolio of caravan brands.
Coachman will now join the Swift Group for the line-up of new touring caravans available at Salop Leisure. Other elite brands available include ABI, Atlas, Carnaby, Regal, Swift and Willerby from the Holiday Home and Luxury lodge range available at Salop Leisure’s dealerships.
Britain’s ‘Staycation Boom’
The confirmation of Salop Leisure’s partnership with Coachman comes amid Britain’s ongoing ‘Staycation Boom’. Salop Leisure anticipates that an agreement with Coachman will help to meet the unprecedented demand currently being demonstrated by the country’s caravanners.
Salop Leisure’s caravan sales have surged 52% year-on-year in the three months from June to August 2020, as research shows that 83 per cent of holidaymakers would prefer to stay on home soil than travel abroad this year¹, and over half of Brits intend to take at least four short breaks in 2020².
Coachman’s ‘class of 2021’
Coachman, the first UK-based caravan manufacturer to re-commence operations following the recent COVID-19 pandemic lockdown, has succeeded in capturing the imagination of British touring caravan owners since it began production in 1986.
The Hull-based, family-owned company, is also the first manufacturer in the country to launch its 2021 collection, based around its four main ranges; the practical yet luxurious Coachman Arcadia, the best-selling Coachman VIP, the elegant Coachman Laser, and the spacious eight-foot-wide Coachman Laser Xcel.
Among the new wave of features is an aerodynamic bodyshell, which has been introduced to all seven 2021 Xcel models for easy towing and fuel efficiency, and the first single-axle model in the Laser range. All models also offer ALDE central heating, AL-KO ATC and AAA Premium Brake as standard across the collection.
Salop Leisure expects the Coachman 2021 collection to resonate with its savvy customer base - offering unmatched craftsmanship and high specifications at budget-conscious prices
Mark Bebb, Joint Managing Director at Salop Leisure, said: “After a challenging start to 2020, we foresee pent up demand from caravan buyers to stay strong through the winter and into the 2021 season. As one of the largest and most loved caravan brands in the UK, we are confident that Coachman can help Salop Leisure to continue reflecting the tastes and preferences of our customer base, as they look for the dream holiday vehicle.”
Ben Parkin, Sales Director at Coachman, said: “We are hugely excited to confirm this partnership with Shropshire’s premier caravan dealer, which will allow us to showcase the 2021 Coachman collection to a discerning customer base in the UK’s caravanning heartland. From boutique interiors to dynamic layout choices and aerodynamic enhancements - our new ranges are unsurpassed; both in their design, and the feedback they have received so far.”
