Shrewsbury’s £6 million caravanning, glamping and wellness resort has added a Shropshire Business Award to its growing collection of accolades.

Love2Stay resort at Emstrey, Shrewsbury, which is next door to and owned by caravan, motorhome and holiday home dealership Salop Leisure, won the Tourism, Leisure and Hospitality Award sponsored by Hencote.

The resort beat fellow finalists The Shrewsbury Club, Shropshire Festivals and Shrewsbury-based Morris Leisure to win the award.

Aiming to raise the bar for quality UK holidays, Love2Stay opened in 2017 and has 122 touring caravan pitches and a village of 11 luxury glamping lodges on a 22-acre site offering panoramic views across to Wales and the Shropshire Hills.

Attractions include Europe’s largest outdoor Biotop natural swimming pool, a £100,000 children’s adventure playground, a barefoot sensory trail, recreation area, yoga, Pilates and meditation classes, coffee shop and pizzeria, forest school, kayaking, water zorbing and a fishing lake.

An additional facility is Hot Springs, which brings the seaside to landlocked Shropshire. The attraction comprises a real sandy play beach, heated rock pools, a boardwalk and deck chairs.

Activities are arranged for children ranging from paddle-boarding, kayaking, raft building to bush-craft skills. Staff find that parents are eager to spend quality time with their children and embrace the resort’s ‘back to nature’ ethos.

Alongside the resort is the Love2Live, a well-equipped fitness and wellness centre with personal trainers and fitness suite.

Love2Stay has now opened its doors to the wider community by offering £15 daily passes to people who are not staying at the resort but wish to use the facilities. Extra parking has been created to cater for the expected demand.

Salop Leisure’s managing director Mark Bebb, the driving force behind creating the resort, said: “We are delighted to win this local accolade which follows our detailed research and investment three years ago. Watch this space for future developments, as we don’t intend to stand still.

“This award is testament to the service levels of staff and highlights the importance of tourism to the Shropshire economy. We have some fantastic locations and tourism-based business in the county that are often overlooked.”

Love2Stay is no stranger to awards, having previously won the BIOTOP Frogking 2017 award for natural swimming pools, the UK’s best site for families judged by Practical Caravan and Practical Motorhome magazines and the Business providing Activities for Young People award at the Shropshire Businesses for Children Awards
