Situated on the sea side of the A496 approximately half way between Barmouth and Harlech, it is within the Snowdonia National Park, offering clear views of Cardigan Bay, the Lleyn Peninsula, Snowdonia, Diffwys and Cader Idris mountain ranges.

Islawrffordd is situated by the sea in the village of Talybont just 3.5 miles north of Barmouth. When entering the village look for Islawrffordd tourism signs which direct you down the lane towards Talybont railway. Islawrffordd is approximately 300 yards after railway bridge on the left.
