In addition, the company is organising a raffle of prizes, including a Jessica GELeration manicure and a wash/cut/blow dry donated by Flix Hair and Beauty, Monkmoor Road, Shrewsbury. Jo Tracey will also be displaying her handmade jewellery at the event.
Salop Leisure’s chairman Tony Bywater said the company was delighted to host the event and urged existing and prospective customers to visit Love Coffee on February 24 to buy a coffee to back Macmillan Cancer Support.
"We all know people who have been affected by cancer and have received wonderful care and support from Macmillan nurses," he added. "The World's Biggest Coffee Morning is a chance for everyone to show their appreciation of Macmillan."
The World's Biggest Coffee Morning is the charity’s largest fundraising event. Although the national event is on September 30, supporters can hold associated fundraising activities throughout the year.
Last year 43,000 people signed up to hold a coffee morning, raising more than £8 million to help change the lives of people affected by cancer. Since the first National World’s Biggest Coffee Morning was held in 1991, more than £60 million has been raised for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Rachel Cooper, Macmillan Cancer Support’s fundraising manager for Shropshire, praised Salop Leisure for its continued support. "The company’s support over the years has been absolutely fantastic and it promises to be a great event on February 24," she added.
